Our Commitment to You
Your privacy matters to us. Many people who visit this website are going through tender, personal seasons of life, and we treat the information you share with the care and respect it deserves.
This Privacy Policy explains, in plain language:
- What information we collect and how we collect it
- How we use that information
- When, why, and with whom information may be shared
- How we use cookies and similar technologies
- The choices and rights you have
- How to contact us
The short version: We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent it, trade it, or hand it over to other people for their own marketing. We collect only what we need to serve you, and we share it only in the limited circumstances described below.
This policy applies to www.patienceinthemourning.com and any related pages, course portals, email lists, forms, and online programs we operate (together, the "Website" or "Services"). By using the Website, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Website.

A note about sensitive information: You may choose to share personal or emotional details about your life, loss, health, or relationships. Please share only what you are comfortable sharing. We treat this information as confidential and use it only to support you within the Services you requested. Our coaching and educational services are not therapy or medical care, and we are not a "covered entity" under HIPAA. We nonetheless apply careful confidentiality practices to anything personal you share.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you visit the Website, certain information is collected automatically, such as:
- IP address and approximate location (city or region)

- Pages you visit, links you click, and time spent on pages
- The website or link that referred you to us
- Email engagement (for example, whether an email was opened or a link clicked)
This information is collected through cookies and similar technologies, described in Section 6.

4. When and How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent, trade, or share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes. This includes not "selling" or "sharing" personal information, as those terms are defined under U.S. state privacy laws, such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
We share information only in the specific circumstances described below.
4.1 Contacts, Colleagues, and Referrals
From time to time, we may tell you about a colleague's workshop, retreat, program, or service that we believe may support you.
- How this works: We send the information to you ourselves, through our own email list or channels.
- What we do not do: We do not give your name, email address, or any other personal information to that colleague or their business.
- Your choice: If you are interested, you decide whether to contact them or sign up directly. Any information you give them is governed by their own privacy policy, not ours.
- Referrals you request: If you specifically ask us to connect you with another professional, we will share only the information you authorize, and only with that person.
- Some recommendations may include an affiliate link, which means we may receive a small commission if you purchase. We will identify affiliate relationships clearly. Affiliate links do not give the partner access to your personal information through us.
4.2 Event Partners and Co-Hosts
Some events, workshops, retreats, or programs may be co-hosted, sponsored, or held at a venue operated by another organization ("Event Partner").
- When information may be shared: If you register for a co-hosted or partner event, we may share only the information reasonably necessary to deliver that event, such as your name, email address, and registration status. Where relevant to your participation, this may also include details you provide for accessibility, dietary needs, or attendance check-in.
- How you will know: We will tell you at registration whether an Event Partner will receive your information, and we will name the partner whenever practical.
- Limits: Event Partners may use your information only to deliver and manage the event, unless you separately agree to hear from them directly.
- Partner registration pages: If you register through an Event Partner's own website or form, the partner collects that information directly, and their privacy policy applies.
- Group settings: In live group programs or events, other participants may see your name, image, or anything you choose to share. We ask all participants to respect confidentiality, but we cannot guarantee how other attendees will act. Please share only what you are comfortable sharing.
- Recordings — If a session will be recorded, we will tell you in advance and explain how the recording will be used and who can access it.
